Uniquer Force U60x

1976 marked the debut of the Uniquer Force, a child-oriented line of lovable, gadget-y robot servants of the Acroyear. They had some pretty cool and inventive features, but one could argue were more or less take-or-leave-it for adult collectors due to their goofiness. If you include the Acroyear Navy line, there were six distinct sets of Uniquer produced.

The Uniquers had Magnemo capabilites, allowing for plenty of mix and match action. The U60x line came with a heli-back pack, whereas the second line from 1976 were meant to be household items. To my knowledge, this second set of Uniquers didn't have their own toyline name and so are lumped in with the U60x line.

1976 Uniquer Story

Text is taken from www5e.biglobe.ne.jp

U-601 Taro - He is the smartest and kindest of his friends. He is the leader, but sometimes his computer goes wrong.

U-602 Jiro - He is the strongest, but he is quick to get angry and gets angry when something goes wrong. Whenever road repairs are done, he always wants to be the site supervisor.

U-603 Saburo - He's proactive, but a little clumsy, and although he thinks he's doing things seriously, he always ends up failing, but... he doesn't seem to mind at all.

Lighton - A robot that emerged from a desk lamp. Since the light is always on, day or night, it runs out of energy quickly. It's good at fixing vehicles like bicycles and cars, but it's a bit clumsy.

Tokayder - A robot born from a broken clock, he is always flying around saying "It's morning!" He is good at finding broken things, but he is a little slow-witted. He is good at fixing simple mechanisms like toys.

Camera - A clumsy robot born from scraps of a high-end camera. His catchphrase is "Say cheese" and he thinks of himself as a construction worker. He likes fixing buildings and roads, but is pretty bad at it.
